Slow starup due to large lib(4Gb)... How to speed up?

Hello colleagues!
Please help me. Every time I start Archicad, it does external .GSM libraries re-scanning. How I can accelerate this?
Maybe its a possible to turn on some kind of cache? the library is very huge in size. Waiting ~7-10min for re-scanning process is very annoying..

It sounds like you need to do some library management. I have never heard of a library that large in size!

me : 6 gigamegs. images for textures, mostly.

To edit the library, remove unessential folders from the existing library folders and RELOAD the library.

Also: install a fresh library from the ArchiCAD install disk and use that exclusively to see how many other parts you actually need.

That's an obscenely large library. It sounds like you need to get rid of some things.
