vent window-opening

Am using a vent window from the AC library. Am having some probs with it. Am wondering if it's a real window and has all the properties of a real window.
Can't get it to display properly. See the pic below for cut plane settings. Have it set in a wall that is below project 0 level. Also, can't get the marker to display. Have changed both the wall and window display settings to no avail.
Wall is set to projected,show entire element.
Window vent is set to projected. Symbolic setting makes the window disappear. Am trying to get the vent to display lines inside the wall and it just ain't happenin. Any ideas would help.
