Cloud Licenses and Graphisoft ID Inaccessible

Lee Hankins

Anyone else having issues accessing Archicad this afternoon? All of our users have been locked out with unavailable licenses and it seems Graphisoft ID and License Manager websites are down, I suspect the two are linked. Interested to understand how widespread an issue this is.

It happens occasionally and is unbelievably disruptive. I think Graphisoft need to find a way of licenses checking less frequently or knowing the system is down so it won't lock Archicad out straightaway and give time for the systems to be brought back online.

I'd also like to point out that even after service was restored, we are left with various authentication problems. Multiple staff have exeprienced multiple ways of authenticating and various levels of success. Additionally, the interruption to Teamwork files has caused odd slow downs and model errors. It seems reloading some models have helped and in other cases, restarting our machines has been the remedy. As stated before, we cannot have these kinds of disruptions or at least better processes which save our work in place at the time of a significant outage.

I for one find these responses a bit unnerving, as they’re more suited if this was instagram going down and we’re missing out on likes.

I don’t have enough characters in this post in order to express the amounts of damage this is causing, starting with the fact that this is happening because of an unnecessary ”feature” GS forced upon its users.

Also, We are currently conducting a thorough investigation to identify the root cause of the issue.

- so you don’t know , huh?

This is the third incident that I'm aware of in just about 6 months.  Labeling this as "Solved!" is rich.

My suggestions:

  • Should we all leave the project open till service is restored?
You can keep the project open; however, as some people mentioned in later replies, there could be short-term issues with the project where a restart is needed. There is also an option to save it to the local cache and just close the project.

And you'll see them displayed like this when you re-open them:

  • Do we save it locally?
Definitely. If there is a crash, or any inconsistency between the server and client computers later, it can be essential. It's always better to have PLNs that you can delete later than losing data.
  • Can we close and reopen it tomorrow morning, and will each individual local data resync once we all log back into the project?
Synchronization happens when you hit 'Send & Receive'. There is no automation here, no matter if we talk about on-premises or SaaS.

Is the Graphisoft ID server down again?

I haven't been able to get a license this morning.

I tried re-starting my machine, and also signing out my Graphisoft ID. But now I can't sign in.

Obviously, my computer is connected to the internet, since I'm posting this.

We're up in Toronto, hopefully there isn't an issue.

BTW if you are on macOS check your permission settings/privacy. A recent update has locked things down a bit more so it could just be you need to allow it to connect.

All good in DC...for now....with the exception of anything political in nature.

The issue was with local IP filtering software from my ISP  (Fidium Fiber).

It decided to block .graphisoft.com traffic. Except for the website, so maybe only certain ports?

Apparently it's "powered by AI" so you know *rolls eyes*

I don't control the router here (it's the landlord's) so I didn't see the settings.

Anyway, something to look out for if your license key stops working randomly.
