Transferring a file from an old licence to a new one

Hey, I got a student licence for a term abroad I did last year, and have been using the same licence since then. I am using it for my final 4th year project, and it just ran out. I have set up another student licence for my home university, but I dont know how to, or if its even possible, to open this file with my new licence, as every time and way I try to it just opens it in the old account, which I cant renew because I both dont study there anymore, and because I dont have access to the email anymore. I have multiple months of work in this project and a major deadline is coming up, which I wont be able to meet if I need to just redo everything by memory in a new file. If anyone can help that would be amazing.

Is your student licence not linked to your GS ID? Or did you create your original GS ID with your university email?

AFAIK Student files are not account locked so opening the file in another AC EDU from another user is possible. All my students do that all the time. If this were the case I wouldn't be able to open the files from my students to evaluate.

Try the following:

  • Launch Archicad by itself not by double clicking a project file
    • If this does not work then uninstall AC and reinstall
  • Create a new file, doesn't matter if AC says you cannot save it
  • Go to the help menu and sign out of the old ID.
  • Sign in with the new ID.
