It's nice to be able to have parametric footings or beams but would be even better if we can set standard sizes!
I can't see any way but hoping that I am missing something

If you mean standard steel profiles, you can import those.

If you mean having the profile modifiers snap to pre-set sizes then I don't know any way of doing that.
But it could be a handy option for things like standard timber moulding sizes, or tile heights or pre-cast concrete sizes.
Barry.

Is there a way to have a set of preset values for a complex profile.

should be nice to have them in the next version.
It seems to me that GS wants to make AC more flexible and suitable for power users without loose its ease of use! Really hard. Maybe we should have two interfaces: "basic" and "expert"...?

Thanks Erwin. I use the import profile option regularly but that's not what I meant. Since v22, there is potential to have a single complex profile for 100 similar but different profiles (eg. single "I" beam for all different sizes).
Thanks for the reply Barry. Maybe a wishlist item
Have a good weekend!

I did see that and wonder what the big gain is there, given that you will work with standard steel profile (bar that one colleague I had years ago who invented his own profiles
, he didn't last long) and you will be endlessly inputting the numbers.
I suppose you could get an intern to do all the common ones and save them as favourites and destroy his brain cells.

You could put a series of hotspots on your Complex Profile in the standard/comercial dimensions.
Nothing better than this...
