Djordje unfortunately working in 3d is very limited.
There are no inference snaping (extentions intersections... and so on)

Look how you work and draw in Sketchup.

Archicad in 2d is very good. In 3d is below average.

You dont have easy relative positioning in 3d(in z dimention) and so on...

I think, working in 3d is not so bad. I personally like the concept.
But in my opinion it is not always the best method to work in 3d view, because most things in an architectural plan and also in the virtual model will be placed in the x-y plane. the concept of stories reflect this special need of the architect and in my case most elements are placed in the floor plans.
I use the 3d view normally in a second step to modify the placed elements (change height or trim to roof, or multiply)
Placing elements directly in 3d is possible, but in which story it will be placed can only be controlled afterwards, not while placing.
--- this should be added in new version; I think, the story could also be shown like other attributes of the element (maybe i make a wish of that topic) ---
of course: if free form modelling will be available in archicad, the 3d view must be hopped up.

But at the moment it is really good, like it is. The user can change between the views according to the work, which will be done; some things will be betrter in floor plan view, others in 3d view.

Just try to create and edit a complex mesh in 3d.
It is really very akward.

To change height and trim to roofs, its ok and very simple.
But if you want to actually draw in 3d its very difficult

And a question to Djordje

For example i need to decorate an elevation in 3d.
Justdraw an arbitary 2d shape and give it some extrude.

If i could draw the outline on the elevation (like i do with a slab) and give it some height, i could easily do it.

BUT now?

How would you do it, and how would you then easily edit it (like you do with a slab)?

The only way I know if is the "draw a polyline, copy it to plan, magic-wand it with a slab, and save as an object" method.... yucky, but it works.....

That's what I typically do, too. Really fast once you've done it a couple of times, but not ideal at all.

Another alternative - even more hassle though I think - is to use Profiler to extrude the fill (vs polyline) along a short line segment representing the desired object depth.

In any case, place the created object at the correct height back in the section window where you have full snaps.

I do it that way to.
BUT this is a non creative way.

I cannot actually draw. See the result. Change it.. Continue
THis is why i included editing. Which is not possible in that way
