ArchiCad 8.1 New Features

We all hear of the new improvements made in 8.1 and some of you know about it.

Since the product is already out in some locations, could we ask Graphisoft to release a PDF summary of the new features.

A document similar to the "doors and windows" improvements would be great to get us to speed while we wait.

Check out Djordje's post. You'll find a few links about ArchiCAD 8.1. I'm not sure if you'll find any PDFs but won't hurt to check it out..

The post that Ben refers to is at http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?p=2238#2238

Please, all - check the topic list before you post. There are already quite a few duplicated topics, and (for the time being, Peter?) there is no option to fuse two topics together.

Working in 8.0 at the moment, which does exhibit this problem from time to time, not sure if I've had it in 8.1.
When this happens, click with your mouse in one of the coordinate boxes, then click on the plan again. Try the keys again. Works every time for me. (Credit is due to someone on the old Archi-Talk, but I don't remember who.)

This is probably just an issue with Mac OSX and Safari but I wanted to call attention to it. When I click on the 'Related Files' link on the US Tech Resources Page, nothing happens. I have to right click on the link, select "Copy link to clipboard", then go to the Finder and use "Connect to server" and paste the link to get to the FTP server. When I browse the FTP files, almost all of them will disappear as I select them. How do I get to the files?

I'm not in front of my Mac at the moment to test this workaround, but try :

ftp://techsupport:h3lp2003@ftp.graphisoft.com
(public read-access to tech support FTP folders)
go to the "gs kb" folder and search for appropriate folders (662 and 663)

I just tried this link and was delighted to see that in Mac OS 10.3 the ftp server mounts and behaves just like any other volume and I can browse it in the regular (and much improved) Finder window. VERY COOL.
