We have released a hotfix for Archicad 10 (build 987) for the PC and Mac PowerPC platform (The Intel mac version released 2 days ago is compiled from this build too, so Intel Mac users don't need to install this). Some language versions (e.g. NZE, FRA, FIN) are not yet available, but will be uploaded early next week. The patch applies to the education licences too.

Or more simply put, How do you have the Tag(label) on the Schedule and Plan/Elevation linked if you don't use a label?
I have used labels for this purpose, but it has not been a common requirement. I also write my own labels to minimize the pain. I have also written some parts for annotating details that are self labeling - but that is another thing altogether (no existence in the schedules).

Taking nothing away from Tom's considerable GDL coding skill, it's pretty sad that he can make a workable label and Graphisoft cannot. So Tom, do your labels suffer the no-show in section bug?

I can not get his labels or Graphisoft labels to show up in elevations. They work for me in plan view. I can get them to show ID, or Internal ID, or Text, but no other labels have anything in them. The label its self is there, just nothing in it.

Is this a common problem with labels ?

Sadly this is a general problem with labels, but we are working on the fix.

That is very good to know.

Can you imagine how useful a Universal Labeling Tool would be?

Being able to label anything, anywhere, with any kind of information, and having it be fully associative and parametric with all other tools, schedules, search and find, etc...

I hope something like this will be ready for version 11.

If not, someone could make a lot of money selling an add-on like that.

I didn't know there was such a bug. I've been happily placing labels in elevations all along... I never knew there was a problem.

I can, I can, fully agree, we are using labels in the office full-on (we use exclusively customised labels for all openings as oppose to w/d marker that hasn't been ever used) and I believe this is so far the best documenting tool that AC has, well, apart from being ridiculously buggy...
Sadly this is a general problem with labels, but we are working on the fix.
oh, yes please, it would be greatly appreciated
