Archicad 10 hotfix (build 987) is out now

We have released a hotfix for Archicad 10 (build 987) for the PC and Mac PowerPC platform (The Intel mac version released 2 days ago is compiled from this build too, so Intel Mac users don't need to install this). Some language versions (e.g. NZE, FRA, FIN) are not yet available, but will be uploaded early next week. The patch applies to the education licences too.

Teamwork files. Please sign all team members out before updating to this latest fix, and then ensure all team members are updated before signing in again, else chaos ensues, weeping wailing and sticking pins into archicad logos. This gem cost 1 team of 4 1.5 kiwi man and 0.5 polish man days of anxiety and loss of productivity before the file was recovered, the old version of archicad reloaded and advice gained from the redoubtable Ed Brown. I had just got to ACUE when the chaos broke out which was not ideal.

Labels in section view not working!!!
Add a label to any element in a section view and they are invisible. Select label tool and command A and they are highlighted but invisible.

I cant even test if the previous bug of crashing when a drawing tried to update when an object had the object label applied.

This means you cant apply window door codes to any elevations.
hotfix 3 hurry up

they appear to work if you use the arrow/ID option but not if if you use a label object
No labels here either ... although I haven't managed to crash AC yet.

Its been 2 weeks now - when can we expect Hotfix 3?

Now that I've installed this mistake, Can I reinstall the previous hotfix?

I don't know if you can rollback a hotfix - think you will have to reinstall AC from CD, then update to the last Hotfix that didn't break anything you need ...

We will check this....
greg - more on this labels issue. i'm not sure if you've got it nailed yet, but i'm experiencing the same loss of labels in my section/elevations yet they are still appearing in my layout window.

before you ask: yes, these views have been updated. in fact i was so surprised that i even made new views and relinked the placed drawings to them. same thing: labels in the drawing none in the source view.

attached is a split screen of both. the left hand window was brought up by right-clicking on the layout (underneath) and choosing 'Open Source View'.

THIS NEEDS FIXING URGENTLY!

cheers

On the subject of labels behaving mysteriously,

is this previous thread related?

I never really received satisfaction(sorry ML. Normally you're a big help)

I figured I'd just end up working around it, not have them disappear altogether.

Sorry I couldn't do more. I have tended to avoid labels since I have always found them to be critically flawed. They continue to be one of my biggest disappointments with ArchiCAD and Graphisoft.

No sorry needed. Your pen table discussion guarrantees the title of Archiguru for at least 6 months.

If you don't like labels, (I don't either) but if you want to use the scheduler to list objects based on their ID. And you want the ID on the schedule to match what shows on plan/elevation, with the object's label set to its ID, the label is cool (until you start noticing what a pain it is, and how the labels sometimes seem to jump/mirror eratically).

Or more simply put, How do you have the Tag(label) on the Schedule and Plan/Elevation linked if you don't use a label?

I've tended to avoid the GS-created labels.... I quite like my own custom ones. It's a great example of a technology that works really well when the objects that utilize it are properly written. Zones are the same way. They could do so much more, but don't.
