OK, I've been watching the Youtube videos of this house in a different language. Now..I've seen this house "BUILT" already and it appears that it was done with Archicad 15....YET...AC15 isn't even out yet?

How is this possible?
GS...what gives here?

This is the featured project for AC15. It is on the box shot. The architects probably have a good relationship with Graphisoft, beta tester, etc.

Yes....I've seen it on the box but....the building has been built guys...it takes what, 8 to 12 months to build a building? And another 6-8 months of design? so that means that AC15 was being used "Beta form or not".....about 2 years ago?.......is this right?

From rumors I have heard GS develops releases side by side. So conceivably development on 17, alongside 16, is already underway. That means 15 could have started development after 13 was released. Just a conspiracy theory, no facts to back this up. But it would explain your timeline.

Another theory. Maybe this architect developed a prototype of the Shell tool that Graphisoft saw promise in and they developed further for wider release.

Or perhaps the original designs were done with a previous AC version with a bunch of existing methods but the project made a perfect poster shot of what the Shell can now do easily.

Here is another post that previously elicited the same speculations you have: http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=32227&postdays=0&postorder=asc&&start=0

Also a boxshot for AC 10 I believe by Michel Rojkind.

or Graphisoft just picked a built project they thought would be a good example to show off 'real' uses for their new tools and remodelled it in 15

I posted a question here on curtain wall subject. since on AC13 box was a building with really large glass facade. I thought if this building is on AC13 box than it should be possible to create this kind of CW in AC, but Laszlo answered that facade was GDL object made for those architects.

I asked the GS guys about this:
Like all ArchiCAD signature buildings, this building has been created with a previous version of ArchiCAD. However, it nicely expresses the theme AC15 is about so it was chosen.
The curvy shape of the building could be done in previous AC version, but it was much harder. With the Shell tool it could now be modeled much more easily.

So everyone go out and find a building that will push Archicad to it's limits and submit it to Graphisoft for them to create the tools to make it easier.
Maybe somebody should build Escher's Relativity staircase.
