Thought when I use the single or chained method it does not flip, but I would like to know why is happening this, cause using the square method will save me a considerably amount of time per project whenever I have this ceilings designs.

I can reproduce this problem.
It is strange because I tried to switch the geometry method from Rectangular to Beam chain and that worked. Then I switched back to Rectangular and the first time it worked. Then I switched to another Beam profile and then it didn't work. So I switched back to the previous profile that just worked in step prior, and now it didn't work either. The profiles flipped to the other side of what the rubber band lines was showing as preview while I was placing the Beams with the rectangular method.
So something is not right here.
I will report this to Graphisoft.

When you draw your profile the drawing line is at the little black 'X'.
The drawing direction also mirror's the profile in your drawing. Draw it as a chained line.

That was my first thought as well.
But it is not relevant whether the body of the Beam is on the left or right side of the origin point, the error appears in my AC version as well, I can confirm that.

What I ment with positioning it, to mirror it.
Here is a video of it.
First you'll see the slab of the profile on the outside then on the inside as a result.
So by mirrorring it the right way you influence the outcome.

But I see what you meant, it looks like it has something to do if the profile was mirrored. Interesting.
Actually I mirrored this profile to get the insertion point and direction of the profile, having the profile this way is easier for me to insert it at the proper height and place.
Anyway I don't see any logic in this that the beam will mirror after positioning if the profile is mirrored. Is there any logic I'm not getting? Was this done on purpose or is really a bug?

For me
1. if I click the lower left then the upper right corner of the rectangle, the rubber band shows it on one side, but it is placed on the other side.
2. Opposite way: if I click the upper right then the lower left corner of the rectangle, the rubber band shows it on one side, but it is placed on the other side.
But:
3. if I click the upper left then the lower right corner of the rectangle, the rubber band shows it on one side, and it is placed on that side. Correct behavior.
4. Opposite way: if I click the lower right then the upper left corner of the rectangle, the rubber band shows it on one side, and it is placed on that side. Correct behavior.
Dontknow, this is the same behaviour you are doing in the video. It is the same behaviour, regardless of how the profile is mirrored or which side of the origin it is on in the Profile Editor.
So the result depends on along which diagonal of the rectangle you input the two points.
I think this is an inconsistency. I hope it is not a feature.

Thank you for reporting this issue. This error is planned to be corrected in ARCHICAD 20: the reference line will be inside the rectangle in all cases.
We have also added a new request to the developer database for the „Ability to flip Complex Profile Beams like Walls before and after input”. It is assigned to development but please be aware that it is an issue heavily influenced by a series of design decisions.

We have also added a new request to the developer database for the Ability to flip Complex Profile Beams like Walls before and after input.That will be awesome, I hope they can get it done.
