Bottom Hung Doors

Kikoria
Enthusiast

Hello. I was wondering if it's possible in ARCHICAD to create bottom hung doors. Doors in ARCHICAD library only have side hung or double acting opening types. I need to add bottom hung function in an easy way to show them in Door Schedule.

Here's an example of how I want the doors to be drawn in the schedule:

Hi @Kikoria

Maybe you could use a Double Window with a Botton Hung main sash instead. To be listed as a door just change its classification.

It is not perfect, but I hope it works for you.

Thanks for your reply! Yes, that's how I do it currently and that's the best alternate way. But the thing is, technically it's a door and in the floor plan it has a different representation. That's why I wanted it to be done by the Door Tool.

Hi @Kikoria,

only want to know when the bottom hung door can be requested?

@Kikoria

I am curious about this door too.

So basically it is like a draw bridge?

You will actually wall on the door?

I assume it will need a rope and pulley system to open and close it?

Do you have any images?

I have heard of bottom hung windows and bottom hung bi-fold/sliding doors, but not a bottom hinged door.

I see, thanks.

So it is not an opening for access, just ventilation.

Basically it is like a tilt & turn window.

So hinged doors also need a 'tilt & turn' option like the windows.

You might need to make a wish in the wishes forum for that.

There must be a lot of force on the mechanism locking it in place like that.

Especially with double or triple glazing.

Exactly. It would be very nice if doors had tilt & turn option. Thanks for your advice!
