Break a line and leave a gap

Is there a way to create a gap in a line like the break command in autocad? Breaking a line between two points.

Have you tried the Split command? If you want a specific gap, either move the end node of one of the lines after splitting, or you can place a couple of guidelines and use a CTRL-click to cut the gap out.
