Building Materials are being over ridden

Hello,

Today I am working on organizing my project template and cleaning up the Buiding Materials, Composites, Fill and Surfaces.

Something happened today that I've not previously encountered.

My template is based on the out of the box ArchiCAD 28 USA template.

When cleaning up the building materials there are two folders (Wood and Thermal) that when I change either fill or surface for one material all other materials in the same folder are changed to that material. I thought I made some "select all" mistake or similar. That is not the case.

Is there an option for "apply to all in folder" or something like that?

Here are some screenshot of the folders. You can see for two folders the surfaces are all the same. I did not do that intentionally.

If you select the folder as opposed to the individual building material (which it appears you have), the settings on the right will apply to everything in that folder.

Verify that AC doesn't need an update. I've seen this in unpatched versions.

Hi. Thanks. Everything is up to date. I did just switch to the subscription AC28 a few weeks ago.....?

Confirmed.
That is not how folders should behave.

Can't think of an use case in which I would want all BMats or Surfaces within a folder to be the same.

That could be dangerous.

Yeah, I did wonder why there were settings that could be modified when you had a folder selected...
