Can't get door to go into a composite wall?

Have just started using the composite wall and skin feature in AC17 on a new job I'm starting. When I went to add a door I found that it won't go in there. I get the little arrows at the corners of the jambs, but when I click to install the door nothing happens. Anyone know how to get this to work?

Perhaps, you are placing the door in a wall and the floor plan doesnt cut it.
For example if you have set the cut plane at 1,10 and the wall is from 2,00 to 5,00 and the door starts there it cannot be shown. Can you see it in 3d? try placing it in 3D and if it is there and you dont wont to change the floor cut plane setting just make the wall be as a symbolic cut and shown in the story you want it to be.

Thanks Wendy!

The strange thing was I had never changed my floor plan cut plane, Its always been set @ 4'-0" above current story. I was alt clicking doors from a
earlier plan in the same file and they wouldn't go in. Oh, they were going in there I latter found out when I went to the 3d window and saw myriads of doors that I was trying to place in the plan window all over lapping:-)
Somehow, my door settings were on projected from the other plan and what worked there no longer worked in the new composite walls I set up and even stranger is that the perameters were all changed too.
The symbolic setting fixed everything like magic. Jon
