Component Type assignment to basic walls, slabs, and morphs

I find the partial structure display to be quite useful for documenting a building's structure / framing, but it appears that the component type assignment (core, other, and finish) is only available to walls, columns, and slabs that use components or profiles. Is there any way to assign a simple wall/slab/column, or a morph, to be 'core' or 'finish'?

For example, if I model a decorative element with a morph, it will show up in all views where partial structure display is set to 'core only'. Using 'core of loadbearing elements only' is a workaround but it's not really correct.

Definitely a problem that GS overlooked and don't seem keen on fixing. Best work around is to deploy complex profiles and composites with single skin / profile with those main tools e.g. wall/slab/column (+ beam), but Morph has no work around other than assigning it to a suitable layer to control display.
