Dimensioning Project Preferences

why is it necessary to keep renaming a "store as" under project preferences for dimensions to an existing name only to "store as" under the same name. is there a solution to what seems such a simple idea of overwriting the selected preference.

The 25+ year workaround is.

  • Before editing the Dim settings copy the name by using rename and then cancel.

  • Edit the settings as you need
  • At the "store as" prompt paste the name
    • EduardoRolon_1-1723066291453.png

  • When you select "OK" you will get this "hidden" dialog
    • EduardoRolon_2-1723066343600.png

  • BONUS:
    • use short easy to type names and then you can ignore the first step or use a text snipping tool (I like TextSnipper) to copy the text

BTW I agree that this should have been fixed a looooooong time ago.
