Wish - adjust a slab size width without switching to plan view.
Why - ceiling & floor section edits, cabinetry that may has 5-6 stacked slabs where it's hard to determine which is which.

I don't see all of what you are doing; but what if those Slabs were modeled as Beams or Columns ?
Perhaps it would be better to edit that in a 3D view than in a Section since the elements are Slabs ? ?

Why can't you open the Info Box and edit there instead of switching to plan?

I think he wants of adjust the shape of his Slab, not just the thickness or location of it. ?

It says width so it could be to stretch it to the sides, if so then agree that the 3D window is the place to edit it neither floor plan nor section/elevation are the correct viewpoints for that workflow.

I'd would like to disagree here. 🙂 Sometimes it's just so much easier to edit in the section view. Often enough there are pesky sitatutions where it is hard (or even impossible) to edit in plan / 3D. (just had one of them right now in a tricky roof situation).
I'd love if I could stretch those slabs sideways in sections!

could be a different or edited post or something? I don't see the word "width". + we don't really know what he is showing us. I am assuming it's an Elevation.

"Width" is in the title of the post.
Stretching in section makes sense for a simple rectangular slab.
But what happens if there are extra nodes along that edge or it is actually curved?
It is easier to edit the shape of a slab in plan or 3D.
Barry.

I know that this is an an ambiguous operation, or could be. But I think it would be solvable. For straight segments that would be still trivial.
Again, I'm no purist in that regard. I want to make adjustments in the best view, and often enough that is neither floor plan nor 3D.

I agree with this wish, why not? Amazing to have the ability to (stretch or move) a node or an edge of the slab element in Elev/Sec views.
