Door openings flipped

Hi there,

So for some reason, my the door opening lines in elevation look wrong. They look right in the window schedule.

So this is the door in plan(GD01).

This is the door in elevation - the hing is on the wrong side...

Then in the window schedule it is right...

What could be the issue with the elevation door and how can I solve this quickly.

Thank you

They are both correct.

On the elevation from the outside, the hinges are on the left (2 hinges) and handle on the right (one handle in the centre).

The schedule is viewing the door from the side the door swings to so you are looking at it from the inside.

In that case the hinges will appear on the right.

When you place the door, the first mouse click should be on the outside of the wall (the reveal side) then the second click is the way the door swings.

This will give the proper inside/outside orientation.

Then in the schedule settings you can choose to show the view from the opening side, which will be the side the door swings to, or the reveal side which will be the outside view the same as the elevation if you place the door correctly.

Personally I show the view from the opening side, as it makes sense to always show the door as it opens towards you.

Here is a more visual explanation.

Schedule the view from the opening side, then it doesn't matter how you place the door in the wall.

There is no "outside' view, just the reveal side (the side you first click when placing the door) or the opening side (as if the door is being pulled towards you).

With external doors it is relatively easy to place the reveal consistently on the "outside" of the wall.

Your schedule will then be consistent even if you do use the view from the reveal side.

It is not so easy to determine the "outside" when you are placing doors internally.
