Draw a timber in Z-plan

I am drawing a terrace, and i cant figure out how to draw a timber which goes from bottom of a column to the top of the next column (like a cross!) Please help.!!

3: Look in object library under roof contruction for objects that tilt, like purlin, say.

But what if you dont know the degrees of the timber.?? I thougth there were an easier way?

It is true that some objects allow for placement by height and not tilt angle.

Your choices, not knowing the angle, are:
1: use a roof plane and specify the heights after placing it at any angle. See manual.
2: extract a side view of the two columns, draw a line that approximates the tilt of your purlin, get the angle and proceed to place the purlin... you'll do this to fine tune the joints anyhow....

If using roof planes, tilt it to appropriate angle in the 3D window, using the pet pallette.

Trussmaker is good for structures but not so good for a hernia. Ask me, I know.
