Is this a glitch in PlotMaker or am I being a muppet

One other thing I'm puzzled by is the manual shows a grid preview where one detail covers a larger area than the other details but what I get is an equally spaced grid instead. Is there some way of customising the grid cell size?

The problem is not entirely clear from your posts. But, I am guessing that it has to do with the positioning of the drawings on the sheet.

The drawings are numbered based on their lower left corner position. Whichever numbered grid square contains that corner of your drawing will be the number plotmaker assigns.
Hope that's clear enough to understand.

Also just play around with the setting above... your original question asked about this as well.

I still think there is glitch though because according to the manual you should be able to set it yourself for each individual plot file by using the pop-up menu.

That sort of worked now one of the other details is now wrong due to it spreading across two cells. The result is I have details labelled A, B, C, D, F and G whereas before I had A, B, B, C, E G
