Error notification on opening 3d window

Can anyone help please?!?!

I have constructed a large site - a development of approx 200 houses and related infrastructure and landscaping.

Recently an error has appeared the first time that the 3d Window is opened after launching the file.

"opposite edge list direction in pgon 188"

Since this message has appeared, all lightworks renderings appear blank except for the sky background - Internal engine renders still render correctly.

I'm assuming that it is refering to polygon number 188, any ideas?

Is there an option using the "find and select" command (or other) to locate that polygon so that I can alter or remove it? - searching for it manually is just feasible as there is so many meshes, walls, gdl objects etc.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, there is no find command for this sort of error. I will assume that you have already closed and reopened the file, and tried quitting and relaunching ArchiCAD, as this will sometimes correct this sort of error. The best approach is to eliminate half of the model and see if the error message appears, then eliminate half of the bad half, etc. You could try this by: A. turning off half of the layers, or B. using the arrow tool to select half of the model. My guess is that it is an object that is causing this message.

Try to set in your Preferences your report to be a full report. Generate a 3D as small as possible, in such a way that it still displays the error. Then see in the report if it gives you any info on which element is wrong. If you find the User ID of the element then you can use that to find it with Find and Select.

Also, if you enable the Special menu, there are some commands in it that let you list info about the 3D model. It can be another way for finding the buggy element.
