Extruding narrow morph

Captured.PNG

Hi there,

I have this narrow sheet that is a morph, Im trying to extrude the top, but its too small an area to register the morph surface and everytime I try to zoom, I zoom n too far and miss it.

Please let me know if there are any shortcuts or hacks around this!

Kind regards,

Claudia

Select the lines of the top with the white arrow and use ctrl-9/command-9 to elevate the lines of the morph

Change the 3D view from 'Perspective' to 'Axonometric'.

You will find zooming much easier.

You can also select the morph and use the 'box stretch' option from the pet palette.

You could also use the box selection while in sub-element selection mode to select the end face that you can then move vertically.

Hi,

May I ask: why don't you use a different modeling option? As that is a steel sheet you can either
- use the sheet object from the default library (Profiled Sheet in library)

- model the profile in complex profile and use it as a beam/ column, depending on the desired orientation

It obviously won't have the geometrical flexibility of a morph but if all that you want is some steel sheet, there are other ways of going about it.

Making me sad... though I guess a gif is easier to understand.
