There is not a way to do this with the Mesh tool but you could use the Mesh to Roof add-on and then align the fill on each individual panel. The amount of time involved will probably outweigh the benefit of doing this though.

You're correct about time. Could just regular fill overlay and eliminate mesh to roof step. It would be a nice feature for site plans.....but thanks anyway.

Pretty easy for a material (texture image) ... create a custom image that maps exactly onto the mesh. But, don't know of a way to do it with fills... Or of any way to do it dynamically as a mesh shape is changed...
