Fill orientation question 2D vs. 3D

I am using th apply texture to slabs to have a tile pattern applied to counters and back splashes. I have some questions, here goes:

why is the texture start point showing differently in plan and 3d and how can I coordinate the two?

For plan view use slab's "Link to Fill Origin" to get the control handle that can be moved and rotated in plan view.
For 3D view use the Edit/Align 3D Texture commands for slabs fill to originate from same point as in plan view.

Also, I think this Fill alignment coordination in 2D and 3D applies only to the case where the ArchiCAD Internal Engine is used in the 3D Window.
OpenGL uses bitmap textures in the 3D Window so there is no coordination with those.
