GRID BUG ISSUE.....still no solution?

see attached.
We have a 200MB Teamwork file in AC17. I've downloaded ALL the updates and STILL this "grid bug" issue is hindering production.

We simply "cant" continue to reupload and refresh the TW file with a new PLN each time the grids stop functioning???? GS please advise.

I feel your frustrations Rob, when you are doing freelance contract work and run into this kind of issue it can reflect very badly on you.

Im sure GS have done the best they can to resolve the issue, but what is frustrating in this situation is that the software obviously knows why the particular object is locked/grayed out. There should be some sort of feedback that can tell you why an object is in this condition, in the same way that the drawing manager gives feed back about 2D elements there should be a manager for 3D elements.

Whenever I have run into this issue and the object isn't locked, its always been down to a placed module.

I have one other suggestion that I don't think was mentioned. And it's not in ArchiCAD at all.

If it's only an issue in Teamwork, go into the BIM Server Manager, and check the Permissions of the Roles that each of your Users are assigned. There is an option to lock out access to Grid Elements by specific Users/Roles. If those Users don't have it checked, they will not be able to edit those elements under any circumstance.

Unfortunately, ArchiCAD does not give you a reason when you cannot edit something. It just stares at you blankly. It would be nice if it said, "you can't do that because..."

I hope this helps.
