Garage door swing AC10

Please forgive me if this has been recently discussed - I've been busy at work and unable to follow along w/AC-Talk as often as I'd like. I've always been a bit confused with the way AC establishes what side of the door is the inside vs. outside, but usually can adjust things to get the look I'm after. I'm having a difficult time w/the garage doors in AC10 however - please see the attachment below.

Basically, in the wall shown, the "inside" is up and the "outside" is down. In plan view, the garage door should be located toward the "inside" of the wall as shown by the door to the left - however in doing so, in elevation, the exterior face of the door is facing "inside", not "outside". The only way to get the door panel to show the exterior face to the "outside", is to locate the door to the "outside" of the opening. Ofsetting w/in the opening doesn't seem to work w/garage doors?

Where am I going wrong?

Tom,
It appears that Graphisoft has made an error in this library part.
Every garage door I have seen has the reveal to the outside
and the panel is set against the interior surface of the garage wall
or against stops to the inside of the opening.
This is necessary for the operation of the opening mechanism
whether it is a tilt-up or overhead.
I just checked and AC 9's garage door
is correct so you could use that one.

Thanks for verifying that it's not something I'm doing or missing. I will use the door from AC9 - or maybe from Window/Door Builder.

And I thought that I was the only one having this problem. Can the V9 door just be loaded or do you have to load the whole V9 library?

Jim,
If your v 9 library is extracted you can make a duplicate,
name it so that it does not conflict with the v 10 name,
and drop it into your extracted 10 library.

Go to File > Open and find the ArchiCAD Library 9.pla (or AC9 Library Special Edition.pla) in Applications>Graphisoft>ArchiCAD 9>ArchiCAD 9 Library (this is Mac, Windows should be similar).

When opening the .pla file you wil be given 3 options, choose "Extract Elements to a folder". You will then choose a folder for ArchiCAD to place all of the extracted parts into.

You will then be able to find the individual parts you want to use and move into your loaded libraries. For these parts to work correctly, you also may need to load the "MACROS 9" folder found in this extracted library.

Note to ArchiCAD 10 users: this procedure has been changed, to open a .lcf file you use the new "Extract a Container ..." command.

You guys don't have to go back to Library 9!

GS had added a new Parameter "Opening Direction". Just simply set to either "inside" or "outside" that will suit the circumstances.
