As long as you keep your mouse on the object the lollypop will show up.
So move your mouse over the object to the lollypop.
After that you can select the lollypop.
A good mouse helps a lot.

Understood....as I drag the mouse "OVER" the object, whether it be a line, wall, whatevs, the lolly-pop stays..but..sometimes when I go to actually perform the "selection of the lolly-pop ref bubble"...then I end up selectign the object underneath which it was making reference to to create that lollypop....it's a bit of a "hit or miss" kinda thingy.

When you want to pick up the 'lollypop' click on it on the left or right side of the object and don't release your mouse-click.
