Grid display off by default?

A minor issue but annoying...

I prefer working generally with the grid display off.

When creating new worksheets and details, the grid display is on by default, and I then go into menu>view>grid display (or use assigned shortcut key) to hide grid. New elevation/section windows open with display hidden by default.

Can the default display of grid be set to off and, if so, where is this set?

I basically have the same question, want the grid off by default. I'll be searching for answers in the meantime but has anybody got a quick answer as to how to do this? Thanks
