Hello,
I’m currently working on a project in Archicad where the roof and walls are covered with wooden shingles (tavaillons). I’ve successfully created a complex profile for the shingles that overlap like tiles for the roof, using the Goodies extension, which works perfectly for the roof. However, I’m struggling to apply this same technique to the walls.
I’ve already created the complex profile for the overlapping shingles, but it seems to behave like large planks, and I need a way to define the cutting of the boards at specific intervals along the wall. Additionally, I would like to have the vertical joints visible in 3D, but the complex profile only allows me to modify the cut in section view.
I have a .gsm object for roof tiles that I’ve been using, and I’m wondering if I can use the same object for the walls or configure the walls to accept such modifications. I’ve explored the parameters of the object, but I’m not sure how to make it work for walls.
To give you a better idea, I’m attaching some photos as examples of what I’m aiming to achieve.
Has anyone dealt with applying a tile-like object to walls, and if so, how did you do it? Any suggestions or pointers would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Operating system used: Windows 11

UPDATE:
I’ve finally found a great 3D model of a wall made of "wooden tiles" (tavaillons) and I'm trying to find an easy way to apply it to walls in Archicad without resorting to copying, pasting, and manually cutting the texture.
I would like to link the model directly to a wall so that it adapts to the size of the wall automatically, without any stretching of the texture. Essentially, I want to "cut" the tiles and fit them to the length of the wall, avoiding the hassle of manually duplicating and adjusting the tiles.
Does anyone know how to do this efficiently? I’ve already got the model, but I want to make sure it adapts to the wall dimensions in a more streamlined way.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi!
You need to look into Wall Accessories.
https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Modeling/Accessories-Add-On/ta-p/303775
After you set it up, you can apply the accessories on any wall and it will factor in sizes, doors, windows etc.
For example: you can find many example of accessories on bimobject with claddings for walls, ceilings for slabs, etc

Are you telling me that we can import wall accessories? I’ve been trying but I haven’t been able to do it 🥲. From the "3D model" I have, I tried to categorize it as a wall accessory, but it caused a lot of bugs. However, if we can indeed import pre-made accessories, that would be much more interesting. Do you have any links to libraries of wall accessories for Archicad, and how can we import them into the project?
Thanks for your feedback anyway!!

Yes, they can be imported.
Firsty you have to install the wall accessories addon from the goodies page (depending on your version of Archicad).
https://graphisoft.com/downloads/goodies/
After that, you can import GSM and LCF (archicad library files) from sites like bimobject.com or bimcomponents.com (make sure to filter by archicad software).
Another useful link would be this with external libraries/ https://graphisoft.com/downloads/parametric-objects/
After downloading, you can use the addon to "add" these elements onto your wall.

Take a look at the Archiradar Cladding Accesory:

Seems it would allow you to achieve something very similar to your reference image.

Okay, I didn't find any elements matching what I was looking for among the claddings, walls, or wooden materials... (if you found them, I'd love to have them 😅). However, is there a way to "duplicate" an accessory and replace its 3D texture with another one, or start from a 3D model to turn it into a wall accessory, or just transform it into a wall?
I already have a 3D model (which I imported into Archicad) that matches exactly what I want! (Here's the link: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/c4ad67bc314d8edcdd90cd03407bb536/wooden-shingle?hl=pt-BR).
Is there a way to do something with this, or maybe you have an accessory that’s more or less similar to this kind of element?
