Hollow objects

Hi, I'm a new user of archicad, so please excuse me if i ask silly questions.
Could someone please tell me how to make the ellipsoid object (from basic shapes) hollow. Could I somehow cut another ellipsoid out of it?

Thanks so much for your help and time! I'll follow your advises and will keep trying.
It's a pavilion project, so it's a building. Or perhaps I should say hopefully it's going to be a building at some point )) So what I'm trying to do at the moment - make an opening in the bottom one as an entrance, then openings in ellipsoids intersections and create staircases to connect them.
