How do i change the size of this stair landing?

Every time i change something about this staircase the landing either gets bigger or moves to a one sided position instead of being centered or both and avoids what seems to me like at all costs to ever change the overall staircase length which is what i am trying to achieve. Any help is apreciated

You will need to post an image of the stair and ideally the settings too.

The staircase length can not always be adjusted if you have rules set for the length/height and relationship of treads and risers.
