This looks like a slab, more than a roof

any how to create a hole , Draw the shape of the hole ( circle in this case ) , select the slab ( roof) , activate slab tool , Hold space and click on the circle.

It is a step by step guidence only, anyways have it once again from me.

1) Creat a Roof of size and thickness you requuire.
2) Draw a cirle with Arc\Circle Tool on the slab.
3) Select slab tool
4) Press and Hold space bar (Magic Wand) and click on the circle on slab.

Activate Roof Tool.
Switch to Rectangular Geometry Method.
Draw the contour of the Roof (two clicks define the diagonal of the contour rectangle).
Activate Circle Tool.
Draw a Circle to where you want it to have in the Roof.
Activate Roof Tool again and SHIFT-click Roof to select it.
SPACE-click Circle to create the hole in the Roof.

You forgot to actually select the roof you want to edit. Your method just draws another circular roof using the current settings.

You do not need to make a circular Roof.
After you created the rectangular Roof, select it, and SPACE-click the Circle that you drew previously.
I would be a good idea for you to go through all the Interactive Training Guides and BIM Tutorials that Graphisoft has available free on the net.
