Apart from a fill, is it possible hide vertical lines between different wall types (interior elevation)?

A screen shot might help, but if you have the same building material and your walls are lined up they should be flush with no visible separation

If you are not overriding the surface material, then if the building materials match and the surfaces line up exactly, there should be no join as Seneca said.
Alternatively, if you override the surfaces and they are set as the same surface material, and the surfaces line up exactly, there should be no join.
Different surfaces/materials and there will (and should be) a join.
If for some reason you don't want to see that join and must have different surfaces/materials, then you will have to hide it with a fill or white line in 2D or maybe a morph surface or thin wall in 3D.
