Hey all,
Having issues with using the 'stretch height' command in 3D. It seems to jam up the program, the only way to fix the issue is click off along the top bar of the window and then back into the working space.
Seems to be happing across the board with this command in 3d - not just isolated to cabinets.
the X marks where i need to click to get it back. This is the same across a team of 8.

It seems it has been fixed in 27.3.0 (I am yet to check).

Let's hope they can get an update out for 28 soon.
Barry.

I am having the same problem. The latest update does not seem to fix it.
Any update on this topic? It's a major issue.

Hi everyone,
This issue is a symptom of a more complex underlying problem. Our developers hoped that this could be solved with certain modifications but, unfortunately, the solution they were working on for Archicad 27.3.0 and Archicad 28, caused more issues than it solved and had to be reverted.
To address this problem, an underlying software component has to be changed which, unfortunately, cannot be done in an update. The team is currently working on this.
As a workaround, the height value can be edited numerically in the Info Box or Object Settings. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this causes.
Kind regards,
Oleksandra

What was change that Graphisoft implemented which has caused this issue, as it wasn't an issue in ArchiCAD 26 or previous versions?

I just loaded the version 26 cabinets in a 28 file and had the same issue.
But when I load in the version 24 cabinets there is no problem.
I am not sure if it is just the cabinet objects affected, as I don't use the Graphisoft libraries.
And I am having no trouble with my own objects.
So I don't have an answer other than I suspect it is the coding in the objects.
And I am not brave enough to go delving into those Graphisoft cabinets to try and figure it out.
Barry.

Hello Oleksandra, Thank you for your official response regarding this matter.
Recently, I purchased an Archicad 27 perpetual license with an annual SSA/Forward license support until version 28. It has been truly disappointing to discover a program-breaking bug on my end. I have already spoken with the representative who sold me the program and attached a video demonstrating how the entire program freezes. Unfortunately, your suggested workaround does not resolve the issue for me. It is disheartening to see two major versions of the software experiencing the same significant bug.
Since you mentioned that this will likely not be fixed in an update, it feels as though I have purchased a faulty product that will remain unfixed. My only option now seems to be to purchase another year of Forward License in the hope that this bug will eventually be addressed. I hope you can reach out to me so we can find a solution to this issue. I am also in discussions with the sales representative. I find it difficult to express my disappointment with these new versions of the software. At the moment, my only workaround is to revert to version 25.

Hello,
I would like to inform you that this issue was fixed in Archicad 28.1.0 Update. Please note that the fix is "switched off" by default because it causes a slight performance decrease in drawing update. A registry setting should be adjusted to activate the fix:
(Important: Make registry changes at your own risk. If you are not technically prepared, please contact your support team for assistance.)
- Close Archicad if it is running.
- Open the Registry Editor application and navigate to this directory: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\GRAPHISOFT\Debug\DG.
- Double-click on "CefUseBackgroundPriorityMessages" and change its value to 1. (Switch it back to 0 if you would like to deactivate it.)
Please note that the switch is not version-dependent, so once you change it, the fix will be activated in all installed Archicad versions equal to or newer than Archicad 28.1.0 Preview Update.
Kind regards,
Oleksandra

It is very concerning to not see a final answer on this topic. No fix should be accompanied by slowdowns in other areas of the program because at this point we are clearly not talking about a solution to a problem. As a user, I am finding more and more little problems and broken parts of the program that Graphisoft clearly knows about but does nothing to address. I am not convinced a new AI-generated tree PNG is more important to require an entire blog post, and not taking the time to address program-breaking bugs.
