Hi All, Is there any way of assigning a label description of different composites to walls, slabs, objects etc (then saved with favorites) so when in Section or Elevation you pick the wall etc you want to label and they appear with the different description of every different wall etc? Or is there a different way or work around to achieve the same end? Thanks

Yes I do use it, but was hoping that this so called No 1 BIM program would have a way of doing this that I hadn't found. Obviously not.

Try the Wall Label 11. This label will show the skin names and thickness. It can also be used in section/elevation and floor plan.

Yes I looked at that but is very limiting. From what I can see it names the thickness of wall and fill name and you can't turn them off. All I want is a text description (keynote) attached to the wall in the same way as above.Surely this wouldn't be difficult to do by GS and all options to be disabled or not.

Not sure if this is what you want but the AC 11 label allows me to turn of text under Label selection settings/symbol label/text parameters ON or OFF , and the detail number can be saved as favorites with different numbers for different types

You can get what you want from the Labels and good schedules to match them.

You can even have all of your rafters or other framing members labeled with the size and length of each one and put into a schedule.

You can even use labels to automatically number things for you like treads and risers, footings, what ever....

Labels are good.
