Mesh points only from poly lines / lines?

Is there a way to create a mesh with points only (no lines/ridges) from a survey (lines, poly lines)?

Mesh lines don't work for modifying the terrain later on.

Please don't tell me Archicad only has manual input of those...

Hello MrSoleil,

To import a survey you have to clic on Files/Interoperability/import survey data (or something like that I'm french).

Mesh lines works for modifying the terrain later on too !

Hi @MrSoleil

As @Christophe Fortineau mentioned, you can import surveyor's XYZ points under File> Interoperability> Place Mesh from Surveyor's Data.

If you don't want to see the edges/ridges or points in your Floor Plan and Section or 3D views you can choose the Show User Defined Ridges and All Ridges Selection under Mesh Selection Settings for a cleaner look. Sometimes even changing or disabling the Cover Fills helps to achieve this.

I mean to create points, not mesh lines. The lines are impossible to work with, modifications are incredibly difficult. Points can be deleted. Is there really not a way to get points instead of lines? Shouldn't be that hard for archicad.

if you have a mesh, and you select the mesh, and have the geometry Method set to Polygonal

then just double click at a point on the mesh, it produces a point, not a line.

click "OK", then you have your point(or hit the enter key)

repeat for all points...

i know its a bit slow, but it gives you points from 2D data.

I don't know if this helps.
