Perforated wall

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi there. It's my first post here, so welcome everybody.

I know that there where some topics about perforated wall before but mine is a little bit different. I would like to have a perforation of a similar shape to the attached pattern.

I'm just wondering if there is any easier way than doing it by a complex profile. I've recently done a perforated wall with random holes using complex profile, but this time would like to have more precise pattern. That's a pity that you can not use image reference in complex profile.

Is that the only way of doing this, or maybe it would be easier to make a perforation in Artlantis or any similar program.

I will be glad for any tips, I've just begun with Archicad so I am totally confused. Thanks!

If you can't get the image in a vector format, your only option is to manually trace it on the floor plan and copy the fill into the complex profile.

You CAN use the image as a mask, but this will not show in analytical views.

Create an alpha channel [in a photo editor] over the transparent areas and map the image to the wall surface as a material.

You'll also need to use the ALign 3D Texture to make it line up as you want.
