Reduce number of fonts

Archicad 20 comes with even more fonts than previous versions. I often need to select a font when creating new items, or I would prefer to change the default to select from, e.g. a dozen, rather than hundreds. this would save a lot of time. Is there an easy way to reduce the selection in the Archicad drop down boxes, without deleting fonts from the system?

I came across an article on using a GDL parameter script to control the number of fonts being displayed. It was written for AC version 9. Perhaps someone will know if it still works for current versions, or can be adapted to do so.

I wasn't aware that AC20 came with ANY fonts, and just showed what fonts were on the system. In fact, AC20 is doing a better job of showing just the font families, rather than each version of every font. (Western, Hebrew, Arabic, Greek, Turkish, etc.)

Maybe what I want is a way to reduce the number of system fonts displayed. Font families? Perhaps but when I go to select a font to use in AC20 I have choose from a list of hundreds.

Sadly, while you can supposedly "hide" fonts in Windows, many programs ignore whether fonts have been designated as hidden, including ArchiCAD. (This also includes Microsoft Word, which you'd think would pay attention to its own company's features. But no.) If GS would pay attention to incorporating this feature, problem would be solved. Maybe post as a suggestion.

I'm sure you're aware of it, but just in case not, your currently used fonts are at the top of the list, and speed keys work in the list as well, so you can usually get to a particular font quickly, even if it's visually annoying. Also, I've recently found that favorites can be quite useful for many text boxes once you're being prompted for the actual text, such as with a text label or text box (see image), a feature which I suspect is ignored by most people.
