Sadly, while you can supposedly "hide" fonts in Windows, many programs ignore whether fonts have been designated as hidden, including ArchiCAD. (This also includes Microsoft Word, which you'd think would pay attention to its own company's features. But no.) If GS would pay attention to incorporating this feature, problem would be solved. Maybe post as a suggestion.
I'm sure you're aware of it, but just in case not, your currently used fonts are at the top of the list, and speed keys work in the list as well, so you can usually get to a particular font quickly, even if it's visually annoying. Also, I've recently found that favorites can be quite useful for many text boxes once you're being prompted for the actual text, such as with a text label or text box (see image), a feature which I suspect is ignored by most people.
