Hello.
I am doing a Renovation, I did the existing, and some news walls and slabs are cutting the Terrain, so I did use the SEO, the problem is when I go to my existing Model the terrain is cut.
There is any way to use the Terrain so he reacts to the news elements different from the exist?
I know if I duplicate the terrain I could resolve that issue, but to use this solution I have to use for others elements such roof, slabs etc...and I will have a lot duplications. I imagine when I use the options tools, even more duplications....
please see the images attached.
Best regards

Luckily enough it's well implement with the Design Options; there SEOs take only place when the DO is active.
I also do it with duplicating the mesh/wall/roof/whatever, but I hope that at some point this is not needed anymore, since it is so cumbersome.

I think this is a bug in Archicad, it would probably be worth appealing to the developers for a fix. Or am I missing some use cases where it makes sense that SEO doesn't work with Renovations logically? As Runxel wrote, it can be bypassed via Design Options, but I don't consider it a clean solution.

It is not a bug, but a limitation. SEOs have never had any interaction with anything outside of the direct interaction with the 3D elements involved... There have been many wishes regarding it in terms of both renovation filters and floor plan representation, though I do not think any of them made it through the great purge...

Thanks Lingwisyer. But with Design Options filter, SEOs work properly and don´t leave footprints in other design variants. Renovations are also just a type of filtering and sorting of objects, there is no reason why SEOs should not work the same way as with Design Options. So I wouldn't call this issue a limitation.
Or as I wrote, maybe I just can't figure out in what cases it would be appropriate for SEOs not to work with Renovations.. Does anyone here know of any use cases?

The difference is is that Design Options are a recent addition after years of complaints... Just yet another area where the older tools need to be revamped to be consistent with the new tools.

So the solution would be to use a mix between Renovation tools and Design Option?

I have been using a combination of the two when SEOs are involved, though for roof changes, I have been splitting the demolished parts out.

It might be time to call it "The Great Purge" with appropriate capital letters.
