SOLVED!

Roof accessories tiles extend beyond the roof

Hi! Recently started using roof accessories and Archicad keeps adding extra tiles where there is no more roof.

It comes out like that every time and I am unable to delete it without deleting all of the tiles.

The solution is to change the "seam spacing"

Change the setting back to Standing seam,

increase this value to 3 times your tile width,

then change back to the tile setting.

Redo the tile geometry.

FYI

what the accessory does is find out the maximum roof length and width.

it then draws the tiles larger than the roof using the seam spacing field for the oversize

it then creates a cutting object bigger than the roof with a hole in the shape of the roof(cutting object shown in red)

it then does a solid element operation that cuts away the excess tiles of the roof.

which version of ArchiCAD are you using 27? 28?...is it on Mac or PC?

Update 1

The oversize is controlled by the standing seam 3/2*spacing:(in ArchiCAD 21 and in ArchiCAD 28)

AllanP_0-1760425915709.png

AllanP_1-1760425979434.png

AllanP_0-1760430392646.png

you will see the gap is 1.5x seam width=400x1.5 = 600mm

AllanP_4-1760431274095.png

you can see the tile pattern is about 1400 or less 2.5 times the tile width

AllanP_5-1760431420955.png

so making the  oversize 3 times the tile width would be safe.

Change the setting back to Standing seam,

increase this value to 3 times your tile width,

and then change back to the tile setting.

change seam to 1600 spacing

AllanP_1-1760430438938.png

have to reset tile width to 600 (because it defaults back to 150...after changing to standing seam)

AllanP_3-1760431148183.png

and it works(in ArchiCAD 21 and in ArchiCAD 28)

Update 2:

in ArchiCAD 28 it uses the same line of code based on the "seam_space"

AllanP_0-1760563634450.png

so changing the seam spacing  to 3 times the tile width will fix it in ArchiCAD 28 too.

Remember to change the tile sizes as all the tile "Geometry" sizes reset after changing to/from "standing seam"

I hope this helps.

Does adjusting the ends (length) of the pivot line help?

Make sure they are inside the roof perimeter.
