Slabs unusable, Z height is Distance origin?

I must have inadvertently hit some key that disrupted input settings. I spent all yesterday afternoon trying to figure this out. This is in ArchiCAD 20.

Ok, so drawing any slab I click and the start point (Distance) is the Z coordinate instead of zero. I drag in a direction and input a dimension. Then measure, it is some random distance (does not even seem to be the hypotenuse). The example I show was a countertop slab where I had input 3' as the slab offset from home story.

I had another drafter here try my file on his system but it's fine. Every drawing I open now has this issue. I tried reloading favorites. Tried applying the 'Standard Profile 20' work environment, no luck.

In the past I've had issues with hitting the backslash \ key and toggling the 'Prefer polar coordinates' checkbox. That one I disable the key now. But there seems to be a "Rotate XYZ axis, and randomize input" key that I hit the hotkey for . WHY-O-WHY do these hotkeys even exist Graphisoft?!?!

Hi All,

A client made me aware of this post. Luckily the issue was discovered back in July and it is already in the works to be fixed with a mainstream Update for ARCHICAD 20. I do not have a firm ETA for the Update but expect the first mainstream update sometime within 1-3 months.

For now there could be multiple workarounds including drawing the slab with 0' offset to start with and then elevate the slab after. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi All, as an update the build number of this fix is 4011! Some updates were issued from a lower build number, in which case this fix is not included. Please check the build number for further info! Best, k

When should we expect an update on this?
I'm on 4009 and it's not fixed at all.

It's impossible to use the slab tool in polygonal mode. The first line you draw is totally random. No mattter the value you enter via keyboard, it doesn't work.

Hi uisanata. If you are on update 4009 the fix is not inculded since it was fixed in build 4011. Any update above 4011 will include the fix!
