Small Curve Roof

Hi,
My exposure to Shell tool is little limited, I am having difficulty in modelling a small curve roof something that should be straightforward and simple and am attaching a pic of it. Can someone please help me with this?

Thank you very much.

you want the rounded corners?

Put in a column using a complex profile shape.

Thanks Dwight, the edges are not rounded,it is more like a concave roof.

HAHA.
I read 12" radius. It is 12',

In that case, use a complex profile wall.

Hi Dwight,
Thanks, will try with complex profile and will let you know how it goes, since it is a roof, I only was thinking about the new shell tool, haven't realized that CP's can do the same. Thanks again.

It can be done with the rotated shell tool but you will need to calculate the distance (radius) to the corner and not the side.

In the settings for the shell you can turn on the option for "Segment surface along rotation" and then set the number of sides.

But I think it is easier with a complex profile wall.

I decide between the new tools and the older ones based in model complexity - a single-curved surface can usually be made with better speed, accuracy and editability using a complex profile of some kind rather than a surface deformed in two directions.

Thanks Barry, I had difficulty achieving that with the shell tool, guess I need more training on the Shell tool.
