Should have probably been doing something else yesterday but can't help myself taking on a side quest. 🙂

Looks useful. Would like to test 🙂

The issue with changing it's Layer, or putting it on a Design Option is that editting it becomes less intuitive as you will need to remember to turn it on before making modifications. Maybe it is a compromise that is worthwhile... I have a nagging feeling that transparent surfaces will still cause intersection artifacts... Combining the two, a Layer is probably better, as the user can set it to Wireframe which might work.

I still think that with both transparent or layer wiredramed the contour lines of the mesh will
be visible.I don t know whether the DO are innevitable.I feel like layer on-off is the simplest.

Overlapping 3D contours from a Top Surface Only mesh with the generated object should be fine? Just another 2D line to be Overkilled when exported to dwg...

I prefer Design Options for hiding things like this. Elements in hidden DOs have all their connections and intersections disabled, are not counted by schedules, but at the same time get to keep their original layer and element ID. No tricks required. It's like they do not exist while hidden.
I now have a couple DOs in my template dedicated this type of workflow.

THAT would be another incredibly useful addon (the SEO finder)

bimdots has an Add-On that might do what you would like to achieve, based on its feature description:

@Laszlo Nagy
Ahem... you mean pretty much the same Add-On I built few years ago...

Where is it? The bim4bim website no longer exists. On the https://store.vktrs.co/ website, I cannot find it.

It's "on hold" at the moment. 😉
