Hi

Does the stair creator only allow risers and going disances to be in whole numbers? Can I not have a riser of 19.5cm?

thanks

You can have a 19.5 cm riser height.  Make sure your stair height is a multiple of 19.5cm.  Tread runs don't have to be whole numbers either.

@Strawbale23 you will need to check the regulations and the calculation formula in your region for the going length when you set your riser height to 19.5 cm (195mm). In my region the maximum riser height is 190mm for normal stair types but for spiral you can go a bit higher than that. If 195mm is not allowed just get your total height and add another riser. For example 2740mm height / 14 risers is 195.714mm or divided 15 risers is 182.667mm. Etc.

It’s not hard to search for those regulation formulas.

Have fun.

In France private households do not need to respect any norms. There are guides which state that the riser should be 16cm and a maximum of 21cm. Going should be between 21 and 32cm. It is only in public buildings that regs apply to stairs.

A private stair in a house is governed by these rules in my region. So 195mm is fine as long as the going fits this formula below.
