This is why SEOs S*CK.

Here is my problem with SEOs

Note the 3d window, t shaped slab produced by adding 2 slabs.

Note the plan window with the simple rectangle selected.

WYSIWYG? NOT!!!

We have a layer specifically for SEO operations, that is hidden in all views except modeling views. But when you're working on a presentation plan, you want the thing to look like what you get.

BTW, we've also been using the complex profile manager to model a bunch of stuff, which is also very easy to get to show something different in plan from what is in the model.

So GS, which version will have these tools behaving in a friendlier manner?

I agree. SEOs.... so great in 3D, so useless in plans....

The floor plan view is still mainly a symbolic view of your project, which is mostly good, sometimes has problems. If you want a true plan cut-through of your building, youll have to set the 3D view to top view and make a horizontal 3D cutplane there, and then a 3D cutaway. It's possible to save this view as for example 2D Lines, and even to overlay it on your symbolic floor plan view if you want that. Much work, but possible.
To have SEOs show correctly on the floor plan without workarounds is a high-priority wish.

Nathan,

Just an Idea, you can save the SEO objects as a library part and then edit that object in GDL by redrafting the "2D Symbol" as you would like to have.

Hope this helps.

Srinivas.
