Trace Reference Palette?

This is peculiar. My TR palette has always sat nested with other palettes on-screen. It's disappeared and I can't get it back. I can toggle in on and off through the Window-Palettes-Trace & Reference menu item, but it doesn't show. I have full control of TR by right-clicking a window, but no floating palette. Work Environment changes don't help.

Did you accidentally move it off screen and now it is not reachable?

One way to solve this in the PC world is to reset the screen resolution
to a much higher resolution. If your palette was off screen, it
now is in range and you can move it back into the center, then reset
screen resolution to your fav.

PS Of course it also resides on the Standard Toolbar.

It did occur to me that it could be off screen, though it seems to be physically impossible to move a palette completely off. I use two monitors, both set to max. resolution, so can't try your test. Anybody have other ideas?

This is a scary move, so as last resort;
(I've never had to do it myself).

Try a different Work Environment.

Thanks, Matthew, but as I indicated in my initial post, that has no effect. I'm still stymied.

New & Reset Alls are not that scary. AFAIK all they do these days is create a new file using the GS template and resets to the default (company) work environment. Have you thought about unplugging the second monitor and lowering & raising the resolution and changing work environment? That might jiggle it back on the screen.

Are you sure it's not just collapsed or hiding behind another palette? It may be worth systematically closing all other palettes to make sure.

Failing all of that you may have to run an ArchiCAD Cleaner or reinstall.

Cheers,
Link.

Thanks, Link. I found that bugger. I had moved all the palettes and windows around looking for it, but closed the palettes down as you suggested. Turns out it wasn't behind another palette, but cleaning up my two monitors allowed me to notice about 6 grey pixels in one of my monitor's corners. It was the corner of the TR title bar--virtually invisible.

Thanks to all.

Great!

Yes it's happened to the best of us. As a trainer, I've come across it more times than I care to remember. Often the answer can summarized in two words:

Look harder!

Surprised the different work environment profile didn't work. Maybe we should have said try a different Palette Scheme, as it may not have changed even between different profiles.

Anyway, glad you found it.

Cheers,
Link.

Some glitch caused the problem, as I never move my palettes and it is physically impossible (OK, digitally impossible) to move a palette that far off screen. There is a limit to how far they will slide and this was way beyond the limit. There was barely more than a dot showing. Very peculiar.
