Is it possible to design a wall on angle [not perpendicular to the ground] and still be able to insert windows/doors etc...

..I can do it with a roof tool but then I can not insert openings...

that is all...

Yes. Go to Extras/Accessories/Wall Accessories, then choose "Canted Wall". Refer to User Guide Vol. 2, Pg. 159-161.

Quite so. ANother (not free!) option is ArchiWall, where the cross section of your needed wall can be almost anything.

The thrid option, plain ArchiCAD (no APIs and extensions) is to make the wall as thick as its horizontal projection, and slice off the top and the bottom with the roof planes, or, if you are on ArchiCAD 8.x, using SEO.

I am using AC8.0 ...what do you mean by using SEO??

...david I used the wall accessories that you mentioned but I can not change the dimensions of it...and I do not think that I can insert openings..

thanx,
Andronikos

P.S. Also I do not have the user manual with me ... from where I can download it? I tryied graphisoft.com but I could not find it...

One final - general question: why archicad does not have a 3d rotation as an option... it will make our lifes a lot easier sometimes...

Cigraph makes ArchiWall check it out at:
http://www.cigraph.it/cigraphint/FMPro?-db=prodottiint.fp5&-format=scheda%20prod.htm&-lay=tutto&-sortfield=nome%20prodotto&-sortfield=versione&-sortorder=descend&-recid=29&-findall=

SEO stands for "Solid Element Operations" it should be located on your "Edit" pull-down menu. It is basically Boolean commands.

The user manual can be accessed from "ArchiCAD Help" on you "Help" pull-down menu.

Insert the openings in the wall, and the accessory will adjust itself

You have it online at http://download.graphisoft.com/ftp/publishing/ac_help/

You mean rotation around the X or Y axis? You can do it, with ArchiForma objects. For usual objects, there is usually a parameter for that.

sorry for asking again but...

First of all let's say that I do not want any openings - only e.g. a 10m length wall with 3m height and 10 degrees angle...,I am trying to remove the 2 defaults openings (door + window) but no luck...I do not know how..?

Secondly when I am trying to insert a window, nothing is happening... What exactly I am doing wrong?

thanx in advance,

What you are probably doing is trying to place the Wall Accessory Object manually... Don't.

What you need to do is select a previously placed Wall, activate the Wall Accessories API from the "Extras\Accessories\Wall Accessories..." pull-down menu.

The API links the Wall Accessory Object to the Wall and any Openings in the Wall will be accounted for in the Object.
