Walls visible in cross sections are disappearing in interior elevations

Hi,

Several walls are present in the plans and I can see them in cross sections but they disappear in interior elevations. I keep the same layer combinations and the same characteristics for visibility but if they are frontal they disappear letting visible the other walls behind. The behavior seem random. In some interior elavation there is no problem, in others this problem appears. I cannot work with the interior elevations because of this randomness.

I checked the walls, they are not dubbled.

I think this is a bug.

Could you confirm ?

Operating system used: Windows 11

In the elevation settings, has the 'Exclude View Blocking Walls' option been ticked by any chance?

can anyone answer: what was the point of "exclude view blockign walls" in the first place?
I have never needed that. never wanted that. never found an excuse to use that!

I have no idea.

I have never used an internal elevations, as they had problems when they were first introduced.

I think the issues may have been fixed now, but I still use sections.

It means my section list is longer and obviously not just actual sections.

So I can't clone the section views, have to create them manually.

But that may be solved soon with the folders in viewpoints feature that is on the road map.

You can edit the front boundary for each of your IEs to influence it, but yeah, I have never found a use for it. It often just means that you have other unwanted elements visible instead... And the front boundary is the side boundary of other IEs when using the multi marker...

ps. Hm... Just had a quick play around with it and it does not quite work how I though it did... It is related to the front boundary, but for some reason it is some distance offset from it rather than the boundary itself...

I gotta hope the new project map feature coming up is going to help a lot with your workflow then!

Yeah I'd like to know that, too.

The help manual is not helpful either – it's not even mentioned in there!

I wish there would be some kind of visual explanation with an example where it is useful. I mean, somebody went through the all the hassle to implement that! For what tho?!?!

Hi Barry,

Thanks for including the image of the settings to clarify the topic.

Yes, that was it.

It took me a while to find it out and after covering some areas of the elevation with fills to remove the visible background ... I thought it was a bug because of the randomness.

The feature seams buggy. I would understand to have it when the IE line is on a wall and parallel with it, to allow removing that specific wall but not to remove walls from the background of the IE letting visible objects and other perpendicular walls with their composite structure... That is a strange behavior.
